Exalead (Paris, France)—Writing SOAP and XML Search API guide for the Exalead Enterprise search-engine product. This is a programming guide for developers describing the object model, programming, and environmental setup with Java and C# code samples. (March 2008 to present) Activision (Foster City, CA)—Writing Visual Effects (VFX) tools documentation for game developers. This includes Beams, Sprites, Emitters, Particles, Projectors … The documentation describes in detail how to use these tools to create VFX in games. (January 2007 to March 2007) BEA Systems, Inc. (San Francisco, CA)—Wrote Kodo 4.0 Documentation related to Enterprise JavaBeans Persistence 3.0 (JPA) and Java Data Objects (JDO). Working with xml documents and xsl style sheets using DocBook with raw text editing and XMetaL in pilot project for company. Also wrote the Upgrade Guide for AquaLogic Service bus and Accessing Data Services Through AquaLogic Service Bus guide. Currently working on an AquaLogic Service Bus programming guide that will soon be published. (April 2006 to November 2006) Terracotta Technology (San Francisco, CA)—Just completing release of developer guide with new XML schema for clustered Java applications. This involves distributed shared objects across multiple JVMs and Oracle database connectivity via the Terracotta Server. Produced session replication guides for WebLogic and Tomcat application servers as well. (October 2005 to February 2006) Sun Microsystems (Santa Clara, CA)For Java Software Division of Sun Microsystems, wrote Java Business Integration (JBI) documentation related to web services integration architecture. I was the lead writer on the project. Used both Dreamweaver and Arbortext Epic Editor with SolBook. I was previously responsible for the Java Plug-in Developers Guide , the Java Web Start Developer Guide, the Java Sound Programmer Guide, the Networking IPv6 User Guide, the Java Upgrade Guide, Java Deployment Guide, the AxtiveX Bridge Developer Guide, and Installation Instructions for all platforms. Before that I handled all documentation for the Browser Technology Group, whose mission was the integration of Java with Mozilla, the Netscape open source. I wrote the Webclient Developer Guide, the Pluglet Developer Guide and OJI (Open Java Integration) documentation. Projects have involved Java, JNI (Java Native Interfaces), Java Media Framework, C++, XPCOM, ActiveX, DOM and other technologies. I also wrote the HotJava Browser Developers' Guide, including all code examples. (1998 to 2005) CoastNews.com and San Francisco Restaurant & Dining Guide—Designed and developed web sites with Dreamweaver, Flash, Flash video, streaming video ... I wrote the advanced example Java program for the tutorial. I also worked on the user guide for JavaLoom, which is a thread-analysis tool. Stanford Telecom (Sunnyvale, CA)Wrote engineering guide for Internet-related cable modem IC: QPSK/16 QAM transmitter and 16/64/256 QAM receiver.
